Transport Kontrol C/D

Description and Instructions

Transport Kontrol Z2 (C/D)

by: DJ Matthew Star

If you own a Traktor Kontrol Z2 chances are you already have decks A and B covered with either an X1 / F1 or maybe Timecode CD or Vinyl but what about decks C and D? The mixer is billed as a 2 + 2 channel mixer but having only one volume knob to work with makes mixing 4 decks difficult. The Transport Kontrol mapping fixes this problem by adding additional volume, filter, basic transport and looping functionality to both the C and D channel strips. The volume and filter controls have been permanently remapped but the transport section can be toggled via 2 independent modifiers so you can jam out on the cue points for deck A while mixing in a 3rd track via transport controls on deck D or vice versa. Check out the instructions and description below…

INSTRUCTIONS

Once downloaded and unzipped you will find 1 .TSI file marked “Transport Kontrol” as there are no FX in the mapping it can be imported via the controller manager section of the preferences menu. Once uploaded make sure you set the in and out ports to Kontrol Z2 also make sure to delete or un-route the default Z2 mapping.

The 4 Hot Cue buttons on either side of the mixer as well as the deck select buttons, loop encoder and flux button can be toggled between default function and C/D transport controls by holding shift and pressing the corresponding deck select button: C for Channel Cand D for channel, to restore default function simply repeat the process (Shift + C/D).

This mapping works perfectly with my latest X1 mk2 mapping:  Legacy Kontrol X1 mk2 giving you access to 4 decks, loop macros and tons of FX…

Hey DJ Star, I’ve just had a play with your mapping for the Z2. It’s wicked, just what I was looking for. The only thing I was wondering is there the ability to control the Hi, Mid and Low’s for decks C/D? This would just round it off for me👍

when in the deck modifier mode the flux button is headphone cue, if that's not working go into the audio output section of the preferences and make sure your output monitor is properly assigned... Let me know if this helps.

Thx! Thats what I was planning to do, but I was just to lazy to start... ;) I will test it and perhaps change it a little (I never used beattapping for example). When I change something, I will upload it here. Cheers
