Description and Instructions

VERSION 2.0

-When NOT in tempo control mode FX mode buttons toggle VU meters for Decks A + B respectively (Please note that while VU meter is engaged FX buttons will function normally but LEDs will not show active FX if you wish to see which FX are active simply toggle off VU meter and LEDs will return to normal)

-Centre encoder touch + shift toggles tempo controls (Make sure to release encoder
before the shift button to activate) Touch centre encoder again to exit tempo control mode
-When IN tempo control mode
-Sync = Tempo Sync
-Flux = CUP
-Hot Cues 1+2 = Pitch Bend (Sensitivity can be adjusted in preferences)
-Hot Cues 3+4 = Tempo Adjust (Default Sensitivity)
-Shift + Tempo Adjust (Hot Cues 3+4) = Fine Tempo Adjust

-As in previous versions t
empo control mode can also be activated momentarily by simply touching the centre encoder with normal control being restored once the encoder is released.

ALL OTHER CONTROLS FUNCTION NORMALLY

If you experience any problems with this mapping please let me know in the comments...
_____________________________________________________________

To activate tempo controls simply touch the x1’s centre encoder and the hotcue buttons for both decks will turn orange, dark orange for hotcues 1 & 2 and light orange for hotcues 3 & 4. While touching the encoder, hotcues 1 & 2 now act as tempo bend buttons while 3 & 4 control tempo adjust, once you let go of the encoder they return to normal hotcue functionality. I took the concept one step further by adding a phase meter to the 4 LEDs on the FX buttons on either side of the unit: left side for the phase of the track playing in deck A and right side for the phase of the track playing in deck B, this not only provides a little visual help getting your mix in phase but also looks pretty cool.

Hi, I installed this yesterday and tested it with my X1 Mk2 + Z2 setup. Although a great effort, I had to remove it, mainly because it caused my X1 browser button to skip every other track, so kind of makes it redundant as I like the fact that the X1 expands the menu screen. It also removed the functionality of the first X1 effect button - I had to resort to the one on the Z2, although by reading the comments it should have become active on toggling between the two states (the other 3 buttons do work). It also caused the Z2 do do some random freezing. I don't know if this is a general Native Instruments editor problem or if there were some oversights in this particular mapping file.. If anyone can tell me a workaround I'll be happy to give it another chance! In the meantime, I'll check the legacy mapping https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/2442 and see if has ironed out these problems! (will be sure to leave a comment, too)..

Dude that is so easy to do just go into the mapping through your controller editor and delete the OUT commands for anything labelled 'VU Meter Post Fader' you can sort alphabetically so it shouldn't take langer than 12 seconds...

I will no longer be updating this mapping, instead I have created the Legacy Kontrol X1 mk2 mapping which incorporates the same tempo controls as well as loop macros FX presets and more... https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/2442
