Description and Instructions
Legacy Kontrol for Traktor X1mk2
By: DJ Matthew Star
The Legacy Kontrol Mapping for the Traktor Kontrol X1 mk2 incorporates several of my favourite mapping concepts and performance techniques inspired by the DJ Tech Tools website as well as community members: Beaubryte & Stewe.
Features Include:
-Ritchie Hawtin’s Loop Move Macros as seen in Ean Golden’s article: Looping Techniques For DJs: Loop Move Macros
-Custom FX Presets including: Turntable “Rewind” & Echo Freeze
-Full Tempo Control
-On the fly Beat Gridding
-Toggle between “Legacy Kontrol” & “Default” mapping with the push of a button
INSTRUCTIONS
Once downloaded & unzipped you should see 2 .TSI files: Controller Mapping and FX Settings. If you wish to upload the mapping without removing your existing mappings then use the “add” button from the “controller manager” section in preferences and select the “controller mapping” .TSI, then use the “big import button” to load the “FX Settings” .TSI. You can also load the mapping and the FX together by using the “big import button” and selecting the “Controller Mapping” .TSI
After loading .TSI file X1 will function normally to engage “Legacy” Mode hold Shift and press the centre encoder Hot Cues 1-4 will turn orange indicating that Legacy Kontrol is engaged, to return to the “Default” mapping simply repeat the process (hold shift and push the centre encoder)

I bought a Maschine mk2 so I haven't been using the x1 but I'll check it out and update in the coming weeks... Thanks for the heads up & I'm glad you're enjoying the mapping :)

The LEDs aren't working because they are set to 'post fader' as I use a kontrol Z2 and run Traktor in 'internal' mode. If you use time code you are in 'external mode'. To fix this issue you will have to go into the mapping itself via controller manager, sort the commands by in /out then you will need to change all the deck level commands from 'post fader' to 'pre fader' it's not difficult just time consuming. If you are on a mac I strongly suggest the 'Xtreme Mapping' application as it will allow you to change multiple commands at once. Good luck! Let me know if you have any trouble...

i can not change "interaction mode" to "LED"!

Hi, Matthew. I am wondering what's the 'Xtreme Mapping' that you're talking about?

Unfortunately it's not as simple as changing the interaction, you will have to delete the existing out commands and replace them with pre fader vu meters

Unfortunately this will be difficult as I mapped each button deck specific so you would have to go into controller editor and change the deck assignment for every relevant midi command (basically anything assigned to deck A change to C / deck B to D etc...) then once you're done export it as a new .tsi file with a different name. Then reboot traktor and upload both my original mapping and the new one you just made assigning them to separate X1s... Not difficult to do just time consuming :( hope this helps Reply
