Traktor Pro 4 DDJ SX Mapping (Stems & Lighting)
Description and Instructions
2026 DDJ SX Mapping for Traktor Pro 4 (Stems and Controller Lighting)
This mapping is a reworked version of this (https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/1336) mapping by JaJa Artwork, so all credit to him for the heavy lifting. All I've done are reworked the performance pads.
I've set this edited mapping up to work with modern Traktor Stems, and loosely based it on the layout of the Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S4, since that's the controller I'm most familiar with.
The mapping is for the DDJ-SX1. I believe it would work with the DDJ-SX2 and DDJ-SX3 but I haven't been able to test it. I created it the mapping on an Intel Mac but it should work with other devices as well.
INSTALLATION:
Step 1. Turn on MIDI mode on your DDJ SX
-Power off the controller
-Disconnect controller USB cable from the controller and from your computer, but keep the controller's power brick plugged in
-Hold the left deck play and shift buttons, and power on the controller.
-Once the controller finishes its startup sequence, turn on the left keylock button. Once the left keylock button is illuminated, MIDI mode is on. If it is already illuminated, do not press it again.
-Power off the controller
-Plug the controller USB back into the controller and your computer
-All set!
Step 2. Import the mapping in software
-Download the mapping from this site, and unzip it. You should get a file called "Settings.tsi". Remember where it's located on your computer
-Open Traktor and go to the Controller Manager tab in Traktor settings
-Click Add>Import from Disk. For each file in the unzipped folder, import it.
-Traktor now imports the mapping. Next, click on the dropdown called "Device".
-For each entry starting with "PIO" or "DDJ SX", click on it, then change the In-Port and Out-Port to your DDJ SX controller
-IMPORTANT: In Traktor Settings, enable 4 FX banks. This is so instrumental brake will work
-For FX Units 2, 3 and 4, set the first effect to Turntable FX. For FX Unit 1, set the third effect to Turntable FX. This is second step to get instrumental brake to work
-All set to use!

The other functions should operate as printed on the controller. There may be some bugs and glitches as this is my first time making a mapping, so please let me know if you run into anything and I'll do my best to fix it!
Also, if anyone is interested in upgrading this mapping please go right ahead! I'm not too knowledgeable about this kind of thing so any help is appreciated - particularly for addressing the controlling LED's since I couldn't get that to work well for the beatjump controls. I'd also like to figure out some way to add stem 'break' effects like Serato has, but I wasn't able to figure that out either. If anyone has any ideas or would like to port this mapping to include these features, let me know!
