Beta Traktor Mapping for Roland DJ707m
Description and Instructions
Hi Everyone - this is a work in progress, but useable for two channels (A and B) in its current form. I have been using it in conjunction with an F1 for remix decks on channels C and D, and it works well with this setup. The Roland707m can map many functions of Traktor, and has some additional unique features for hybrid sets (built-in drum machine and oscillator). Also works with DVS
This initial mapping allows the following key features, and i have tried to keep the layout intuitive:
open the library view using 'back' button for channels a and b
select using select encoder, and load by pushing respective select encoder for each channel
play and pause, cue and sync for each channel
gain, eg and volume fade for each channel
crossfader
Shift + 'Vinyl' toggles from 'internal' playback to DVS (relative mode)
use of both filter fx and main fxs for all four channels,
mapping mic hardware volume and fx controls for main effects banks (works best for 'group of 3' fx banks
n.b. in Pro 4 these can also modify the pattern player if that is selected instead of an FX bank
using the primary 505 hardware fx encoder to modify filters for each channel (hold shift to access channels C and D)
Top four control pads - 4hot cues for channels a and b (shift and pad to delete a hot cue, except all initial track cues cannot be deleted)
bottom four control pads = autoloops (Shift and press for four more autoloops)
parameters -+ equal pitch bend (to beatmatch/bring into time)
turn jogwheel to scrub forward through a track
press down jogwheel and turn to scrub backwards
Tempo faders work for each channel
Any tips on the following greatly appreciated:
improving jogwheel performance
getting 'performance' pads to work without affecting hotcues etc (i think i know how i can do this, but currently using modifiers for fx selection controls)
colour outputs for performance pads.
Cheers

Hi Brother Grinn
For Jog wheels
Deck A Ch01.CC.006
Encoder #Fh/41h
Rotary Sensitivity 25%
Rotary Acceleration 11%
I turned off/ Deleted Jog Touch. I dont scratch at all. Just Cue
Im having issues getting the LED's of Cue Pads to Light up. Nad others like FX 1 & 2.
Cheers

Hi Shaun, thanks for the jogwheel mapping tip! works great. For Deck 2/B i followed the same technique Deck B Ch02.CC.006 Encoder #Fh/41h Rotary Sensitivity 25% Rotary Acceleration 11% Then for the jog touch mapping i used the same control but set the modifier to 1 instead of 0 when jog is touched. you can then ramp up the sensitivity and acceleration for scratching, without affecting the nudge controls, because the extra acceleration is only triggered when touching the top-plate. Nice one thanks so much

Hey BrotherGrinn, For me,IMHO its better to disable Jog Touch whilst DJ'ing out. Sometimes my long sleeve shirts have moved the jog wheels and stopped the song so prefer to use the jogs as a nudge in any direction. :)

Thanks Shaun - Appreciate your feedback! yes the Midi send to light up the pads just doesn't seem to work. The other lights (cue buttons, deck selection etc) appear to work anyway because my guess is that they are hardwired in the controller, not software dependent.
