Description and Instructions

Akai Midimix Mapping Layout

Rows 1 – 3:  8 Rotary Encoders Each (Total of 24)

Rows 4 – 5:  8 Push Buttons Each   (Total of 16)

Row   6:        8 Faders and 1 Master Fader

 

I’ll Number These as Row – Encoder/Button/Fader   Number

Example    1-1, 1-2, 1-3,1-4……  From Left to Right

                    2-1, 2-2, 2-3,2-4……

You get the idea.

 

There are 4 buttons on the right side above the master fader

Button 1  Send All       =  Not Used (Careful, It will send the current Midimix settings to Traktor)

Button 2  Bank Left     =  Deck Select Button

Button 3  Bank Right   =  Modifier  M2             

Button 4  Solo               =  Modifier  M1

 

(*If  Changed,  Reset your  Midimix  back to default, using the Akai  MIDImix Editor*)


Row 1 Encoders

1-1      Dry/Wet Encoder  for FX Unit 1

1-2      Encoder Knob 1 For FX Unit 1

1-3      Encoder Knob 2 For FX Unit 1

1-4      Encoder Knob 3 For FX Unit 1

1-5      Dry/Wet Encoder  for FX Unit 2

1-6      Encoder Knob 1 For FX Unit 2

1-7      Encoder Knob 2 For FX Unit 2

1-8      Encoder Knob 3 For FX Unit 2

 

Row 2 Encoders

2-1 Hi Frequency Deck - Deck Dependent

2-2 Mid Frequency Deck - Deck Dependent

2-3 Low frequency Deck - Deck Dependent

2-4 Filter Adjust Deck - Deck Dependent

2-5 Tempo Adjust Deck A

2-6 Tempo Adjust Deck B

Row 5 Buttons

 

Cue Points are Deck Dependent You must change to the desired Deck (A-D) Before setting or delete a Cue Point.

 

 5-1 Add/Return to Cue Point 1

 5-2 Add/Return to Cue Point 2

 5-3 Add/Return to Cue Point 3

 5-4 Add/Return to Cue Point 4

 5-5 Add/Return to Cue Point 5

 5-6 Add/Return to Cue Point 6

 5-7 Add/Return to Cue Point 7

 5-8 Add/Return to Cue Point 8

 

To Delete a Cue Point Press and Hold M1 and the corresponding Cue Number to delete. (M1 = Solo Button)

 

Row 6 Faders

6-1 + M2  Gain for Deck A

6-2 + M2  Gain for Deck B

6-3 + M2  Gain for Deck C

6-4 + M2  Gain for Deck D

6-5  Pan Left/Right Deck Dependent

6-6  Cross Fader (Position)

6-7  Volume adjust Deck A

6-8  Volume Adjust Deck B

6-9  Master Volume

(M2= Bank Right Button)

Modifier Assignments

 

(M1 = Solo Button, M2 = Bank Right)

 

M1 + 5-1 to 5-8 = Delete Cue Point

M2 + 4-5 Turn On/Off  FX Unit 2

M2 + 5-1 Turn on Filter Deck A

M2 + 5-2 Turn on Filter Deck B

M2 + 5-3 Turn on Filter Deck C

M2 + 5-4 Turn on Filter Deck D

 

Loop Active M2 + 4-8 Deck Dependent

Loop Size Adjuster 3-1 Deck Dependent

Loop In/Set Que M2 + 4-6 Deck Dependent

Loop Out M2 + 4-7  Deck Dependent
