I just found out about Djay as the Traktor app for iphone seems to be depricated and not supported anymore. Neither the Traktor Z1 or my S4MK2 did not work as they cannot be turn into Midi mode without the correct response from a correct driver. This means that the Z1 is almost useless without jailbraking the iphone. Unless you do the same I’m going to do for S4. Let me explain. I have been wanting to control djay on my pc through network as I’m too lazy to find my usb extension chord. I’m sitting on my couch on my laptop and can now connect S4 and forward the midi through ethernet. However the pc version of Djay is not letting me to map the device without the 50€ subscription per month. I know have it on my iPhone so I want to get that up and running. My current plan is to connect S4 to my laptop which lights up the device with the correct drivers. Now you can change it into midi mode which works with Z1 also. I could then route the midi through midi interface to my iphone using midi to usb adapter.. And the only viable option is Roland UM-ONE being the only professional IN/OUT adapter in the market compared to the crap from China. It has the most supported drivers from all of them and it’s top quality. Iphone should dance with it no problem. As the S4 has midi output I can simply skip the forwarding and now connect the S4 straight to my iPhone. This should achieve better latency compared to Z1. The only downside is that I need a computer on the side of iPhone, computer that is always on (awake) and connected to the S4. Maybe (huge maybe) one could use android phone to wake up the drivers but you would need to charge the phone at the same time. The problem woth Native Instruments devices is that they don’t have native midi capability.. Well in a sense they do but cannot be invoked without external processing unit running the driver. Let’s see how this goes. The mappings might not work out of the box with the file provided in this post but as far as I’m aware the Djay software hasn’t changed drastically during the years. It should be just fine. If you have a better knowledgement or instructions how to implement this file (I assume you just move it to iPhone) any help is appriciated. I also let you know how this goes.

For anyone wondering how to install this out of the box on Mojave. 1. There is no -> Midi Mapings folder by default so don't look for it. 2. Download the file. 3. Open Traktor, then close traktor. 4. On your S4 Push Shift plus Preview. (put in midi mode) 5. Double click on the Downloaded midi mapp file (This will open Djay and ask if you want to install the mapping file) 6. Enjoy

Can we use the same file for MKI Trakstor s4? The first release of s4?

Hey guys, i've set this up, and it's seeing the controller, but no buttons, sliders or knobs are working. It'd be great if someone could help me get this working, I'm willing to pay. Thank you Richard.
