Denon SC3700 Hybrid-Midi 2 Deck With Spinning Platter

Description and Instructions

This is set up allows for 2 deck Traktor control using the Denon SC3700s internally generated timecode. Yes the spinning platters work with Traktor 2.11. This mapping effectively makes the Denon SC3700s useful again as originally intended - internal generated timecode allowing control of Traktor with the spinning platters PLUS the ability to midi map the entire layout of the Denon deck (outside of timecode controls).

When Traktor upgraded its timecode signal to mk2 (2500 hz) it began generating calibration errors and causing the software pitch to lock up, thus rendering the Denon SC3700s useless. This mapping allows you to use the original Traktor timecode MK1 that is generated by the Denon deck (2000 hz) and features a handy mapping that fixes the calibration/pitchlock issue without you having to ever touch the computer.

Super detailed documentation including set up is on the PDF - make sure you read it. Hope you enjoy, I've been having tons of fun mixing old school style but with full midi functionality to control Traktor.

Caveat- verified working with Traktor 2.11.0 and Denon SC3700 firmware 2020, timecode frequency set to 2000.

This is based off the 4 deck pure midi mapping I did a while back, check that video out for more full info on how everything works, this video is just to describe how to fix the pitch-lock issue.

KNOWN ISSUES
I played with this setup for an hour and a half. What I've discovered is the following

- Sometimes loop LEDs will flash on both players even though you triggered a loop on just one.
- Sometimes the play pause LED functionality doesnt work as intended, but it clears up - its intermittent
- The pitch lock issue also appears intermittent. I have seen it occur on every track load, and other times it doesnt happen at all.
- Let me know if you discover anything else

WHAT I WOULD FIX TODAY
As any of you who have taken deep dives into advanced mapping know, Traktors editing tools are archaic at best despite the power inherent in the design. After having played on this set up for a while now, I would probably change the main effects buttons for FX3 to being a 3 effect set up instread of a single. Double pressing to load different effects is kind of a pain.
Problem downloading or other issues? Let us know on the forum.

Hey Senator Wax Davis ! Will this also work with Traktor Pro 3, as this allows non-Traktor certified soundcards. I have an ESI MAYA 44USB, and the mapping would mean I could take advantage of Traktor rather than my present DJ software.
