Pioneer DDJ-SR / djay pro / iOS 11

Description and Instructions

I have found a solution for djay pro and DDJ-SR with an iPad Pro 10.5. It works perfectly with full functionality. I am running the latest iOS 11.0.3, macOS 10.13, iTunes 12.7 and Pioneer firmware is up to date.

Here's my experience.

1. I plugged the DDJ-SR into my iMac.
2. Opened djay pro and selected "Configure Pioneer DDJ-SR" from the the MIDI Menu.
3. In the dropdown I selected 'options/duplicate' and djay pro added "Edit" to the duplicate name.
4 Selected the "Edit" copy and the share sheet icon lit up and I selected to open it in the finder.
5. In the finder I copied "Pioneer DDJ-SR Edit" and pasted it on my desktop.
6. I renamed the desktop copy to "Pioneer DDJ-SR".
7. In iTunes I selected my iPad Pro and from the tree on the left selected "File Sharing".
8. Selected "djay pro" from the apps list and added the file "Pioneer DDJ-SR" from my desktop. You can either drag it onto the files section or scroll down and select "add".
9. Synced up, reconnected to "Apple USB 3.0 Camera kit" and Voila! Full functionality

Note: I originally bought a generic lightning to USB/lightning cable from Amazon for $15. It was a mistake. The only recommended solution is to buy an Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Kit adapter. ($39.99). You will also need a Powered USB hub. I picked up a powered USB3 hub at Best Buy for (29.99).

Good luck! I can imagine this process works with most controllers. Give it a try and leave a comment on your results!

Thanks for the mapping. I'll try the one you have here since i do not have a Mac and add it to my iTunes on my iPad. Question for the Lighting to USB 3.0 camera adapter, how is everything connected. I assume you plug in the adapter into the ipad. Do you plug the usb 3.0 cable from the DDJ-SR to the USB on the adapter and then the other lighing connector to the USB hub for power?
