APC Mini Step Sequencer

Description and Instructions

Summary

This is version 1 of my first ever mapping file. It's a step sequencer for Deck C in Traktor.

Usage

  • Make sure you have version 2.11 or higher of Traktor installed, since that's when the step sequencer functionality was added to the remix decks.
  • Make sure that Deck C is a remix deck, press Play on that Deck and hit the button labelled "Seq. On" in the diagram. You should see the sequencer steps lighting up in turn.
  • Load a sample into any cell of slot 1.
  • Press any of the sequencer step buttons and you should hear your sample being played at regular intervals.
  • If you have multiple samples loaded in a slot, then you can change the current sample using the slot cell buttons.
  • You can change which of the 4 available slots is active using the "Slot Select" buttons on the right.
  • Each slot has individual on/off and level controls for volume, filter and FX.
  • Pressing the Shift button toggles from Mode A to Mode B.
  • When in Mode B, pressing a step button sets the pattern length for the active slot.
  • Mode B also changes the FX On/Off buttons to KeyLock On/Off buttons and the Mute On/Off buttons to Monitor On/Off buttons.
Background

The whole mapping file was generated using a C# application which I developed. By generating the mapping file programmatically I can make large changes quickly and easily.

Many thanks to Ivanz Zlatev for his work in reverse engineering the Traktor mapping file format.

Give it a try. Let me know what you think. If you don't like it then tell me why. Maybe I can improve it with your feedback. I'll keep an eye on the comments. Enjoy!

Sequencer lights are fine but i think they don't trigger the slots in Traktor 3.
