Traktor+Maschine=Love
Description and Instructions
Hi, this is my Maschine mk2 mapping for Traktor 2.11
It includes:
- 1)Hotcues for decks A/B, color coded.
- 2)Toneplay maping, as seen in some Red Bull Thre3style routines.
- 3)Slicermode for decks A/B
- 4)Remix Decks Step sequencer (for now just deck C, eventually D too)
Some clarifications:
This is a mapping I created mostly to compete in Red Bull thre3style. So the main thing for me was to have hotcue and the toneplay mode.
Now, since I'm a nerd and I love mapping stuff (and maschine has a million buttons and up to 8 groups) I decided to add 3 and 4.
I don't think I'll ever use that stuff live (either competing or at a regular gig) I think is fun and maybe somebody wants it.
I'm open to suggestions, and thinking about improving this mapping, so feel free to contact me.
This mapping was possible thanks to CMDR, the best software for complex mapping in Traktor.
https://cmdr.codeplex.com/
Installation:
- 1) Download the traktor mapping, and the Maschine template (you need both)
- 2) Import the maschine template in the controller editor (and select it; you can switch templates by pressing in maschine shift+LEFT/RIGHT)
- 3) Import the maschine mapping into Traktor
Instructions:
It has 6 groups
- A) Hotcues: Regular hotcues, and you can delete them by pressing enter+hotcue(x)
-
B) Toneplay mode: This only works with deck A. Keylock has to be on (press PLAY or SCENE), and deck A has to be playingYou press any pad, and it will trigger the last hotcue yo crossed, and change the tone.Pad 9 is key 0; so you can go 7 semitones up, or 8 semitones down.
-
C)Remix Deck Step Sequencer: This is the step sequencer for the remix deck C. Deck C has to be playing.Press CONTROL to turn on the step squencer. You can switch between slots 1-4 with the 4 buttons at the top (lets call them SLOTBUTTON)Corresponding knobs are volume faders for each slot.Holding ENTER+knob(x) switches sample in slot(x)Holding SLOTBUTTON(x)+encoder will add/remove one step in the sequence length for slot(x)
- D)This will be step sequencer for Deck D (some day).
-
E) Slicer mode for deck A.You can turn on slicer mode for deck A pressing BROWSE
-
F) Slicer mode for deck BYou can turn on slicer mode for deck B pressing SAMPLING

Amazing mapping! I was looking for a step sequencer midi mapping. I am trying to fix something similar for the Push 2, but I'm having a problem that you seem to have solved. Whenever the ticker (the current step) comes over an already set step, it resets the light. I looked over the mapping you made and I see you used different channels but I just don't get how the lights know to go back to their original set state after the ticker passes them. Doesn't midi out know only the last signal it receives?

Hey, sorry for the suuper late response. I don't know thaat much about midi lights, but, maschine uses hsb mapping, through the controller editor mapping. Not all controllers are the same, and in particular, not all controllers handle midi-out messages (for lighting) the same. take a look at this video, it explains how HSB lights work with maschine, maybe its similar with push: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpNX4UkSKB0

Yeah, probably! I don't think traktor midi messages changed that much between t2 and t3.
