Denon DN-S3700 Hybrid Traktor Mapping - 2 Decks - Slyk Nick Edit
Description and Instructions
It is for 2 decks (A & B) in the Denon Hybrid-Midi mode. This uses a built-in time-code signal in addition to a midi mapping layer. That means that to take full advantage of the midi and the hybrid mode at the same time, you would need to have Traktor Scratch Pro and a scratch-certified soundcard (NI or hacked) as well as the hybrid midi firmware that is available for free from Denon. All controls are explained in the pictures included.
Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.
Thanks and have fun with the mapping!

When using the 3700 in hybrid mode and Traktor in scratch mode, the pitch will be totally controlled by the 3700. There are 3 parts of the unit that don't send midi in hybrid mode. They are: the pitch fader, the platter, and the play/pause & cue buttons. In hybrid mode, these parts only affect the timecode signal that is coming out of the unit. Play/pause starts and stops the tc signal. Cue stops it all together. The platter tells the computer the speed and direction of the tc signal. And the pitch fader speeds up or slows down the tc signal. So the pitch range would be whatever you have it set at on the 3700 unit itself. Hope this helps :)

It should work with any of the Traktor versions for the last couple of years.

does it work with traktor pro 2? or do you need traktor scratch pro?

You would need Traktor Scratch Pro at least 2.6.2 or higher. The midi messages should still work if you only have Traktor Pro, but you won't be able to use the time-code platters (with TSP they feel REALLY nice and even work better than the 3700 built-in vinyl emulation).

What signal am i suppose to use with this how do I get the buttons to work?

This mapping works with the hybrid midi mode that is on newer Denon media players. If you don't have that firmware version loaded, just go check out Denon's page and you can download it for free. Then the timecode signal comes from the unit itself without the need for a timecode disc. But the buttons will still send midi info. This mapping applies to just the midi buttons and not the platter which sends timecode.

hello after your mapping for denon dns 3700, the platinum frequency works with the new version of traktor pro, would you have a solution for use in hybrid mode or other means to avoided using the timecode cd? For the CD skips when I scratch.

For some reason Traktor doesn't read the hybrid timecode signal the same as it does a timecode record or cd. It should work regardless though as long as you have an NI soundcard. All your specs seem right though.
