One Button MIDI Mapping Contest - "Evoke"

Description and Instructions

EVOKE

What does it do?:

It creates a build and jumps to a predefined cue point at the end of the build up. There are 4 parts to the build, each part with a designated loop length. The first 3 presses on the single button shortens the loop and the forth press cuts out the sound and triggers a one shot sample (1st slot Deck C). At the fifth press, after the sample is triggered, track jumps to the next available cue point. At any of the presses, you can hold the button to induce effects/movement.

Setup:
  • Track should be playing on Deck A.
  • One shot sample should be assigned to the 1st slot of Deck C.
  • Predefined cue point to jump to after build.
  • 2 Group Traktor FX Units.
  • Unit 1: Reverb, Flanger Pulse
  • Unit 2: Filter:92 LFO, Peak Filter, Digital LoFi
*Note: the listed fx types are what I created this mapping with and what I recommend, but you can always switch it up.

Notes:
  • As noted in the guidelines, pressing "V" on your keyboard starts the effects sequence.
  • Be sure to complete the cycle of 5 presses before jumping anywhere else on the track to avoid messing up the modifiers.
  • Holding the first press longer makes succeeding effects more intense.
  • The sound cuts out when the oneshot sample is triggered. Because of this, samples like words, or short riffs work best.

Be sure to drop me some feedback! Did you like it or not? Can it be improved? Is it even practical? I'd love to hear it all! Cheers!
