Hey I've been getting more into MIDI mapping recently.  Starting to get more sophisticated with my mapping for my APC 40.  Where Im stuck right now is with LED outputs.  I read the DJTT article on it and it was helpful, but one thing I can't figure out is why I can't get certain LEDs to stay lit when I release buttons.

I've gotten two rows of buttons to light up in accordance with different modifier states, but when I push any of those buttons the LED will turn off and I have to switch modifier states to get them to come back on.

Also, I want to get my loop buttons to light green when their active, and orange when they're not.  I've been able to get them to turn green when I hold the button down to activate the loop, and orange when I deactivate the loop, but when release the button it just turns off.
