Reloop Beatpad 2 midi mapping - Partial control over decks 3 and 4, and more stuff
Description and Instructions
Implemented partial control over Decks 3 and 4, which I use as Scratch Decks. I tried to use the original SHIFT button to access functions on these decks as much as possible, in order to maintain some consistency / pattern.
Used the SYNC button as a secondary SHIFT, and SHIFT + SYNC = SYNC
MIXER SECTION
Gain knobs = Gain for decks 3 or 4
SHIFT + Gain knobs = Wet/Dry for FX 1 and 3 on all decks
SYNC + Gain knobs = Wet/Dry for FX 2 on all decks. I normally use Reverb on FX2, and I don’t like it too wet, so I normally use this one on the 50% and FX 1 and 3 on 75%.
Cue/Mix = FX 1, 2 and 3 Parameter on all decks
SYNC + Cue/Mix = Cue/Mix. I normally use this control very few times on my sets…
SHIFT + High EQ = Tempo for decks 3 or 4
SYNC + High EQ = Mid EQ
SHIFT + Filter = Filter for decks 3 or 4
SHIFT + Load song on decks 1 or 2 = Load song on decks 3 or 4
SYNC + Load song on decks 1 or 2 = Increase / Decrease Waveform zoom
SHIFT + Cue (phone) = Cue for decks 3 or 4
SYNC + Cue (phone) = Time elapsed/remaining on decks 1 or 2
SYNC + Preview = Skip Forward Preview
TRANSPORT SECTION
SHIFT + Play/pause = Censor
Jump = CUE
SHIFT + Jump = Jump to beginning of song
Set = Play Pause on decks 3 or 4
SYNC + Set = CUE on decks 3 or 4
SHIFT + Set = Jump to beginning of song on decks 3 or 4
SHIFT + Jog = Jog seek on decks 3 or 4
SYNC + Jog = Jog seek on decks 1 or 2
*** Jog wheels control decks 1/3 or 2/4 at the same time, so if you scratch on deck 3, deck 1 is affected (the same applies to decks 2/4). I don’t think this is a big big deal, you just have to scratch on deck 3 if deck 2 is playing, and on deck 4 when deck 1 is playing. And you have to remember to use your hot cues on 2/4 just before initiating you mix.
TEMPO SECTION
SHIFT + Tempo = Tempo for decks 3 or 4. I found it more useful to use the High EQ knobs than the tempo faders for 3 and 4, this way you don’t mess around with your pre adjusted beatmatch on decks 1 and 2.
Pitch bend “ – “ = Neural mix Acapella + FX 3 (I use Echo on this one)
Pitch bend “ + “ = Neural mix Instrumental
SHIFT + Pitch bend “ – “ = Key lock
SHIFT + Pitch bend “ + “ = Slip Mode
SYNC + Pitch bend “ – “ = Beat jump 8 beats backward
SYNC + Pitch bend “ + “ = Beat jump 8 beats forward
PADS SECTION
HOT CUE
SYNC + Hot Cues 4 and 8 = Key + and Key - decks 1 or 2
SAMPLER = Hot Cues Decks 3 or 4 (I don’t use Samples too much, I prefer using hot cues on “sample songs”, and the Sample mode is right below the Hot Cue mode for decks 1 or 2, so I thought it would make perfect sense).
SHIFT + Hot Cues 1-8 = Delete Hot Cues 1-8
SYNC + Hot Cues 4 and 8 = Key + and Key - decks 3 or 4
AUTOLOOP
Pads 1 and 2 = Loop Half and Loop Double decks 1/3 or 2/4
Pads 3 and 4 = Autoloop and Reloop decks 1 or 2
SYNC + Pads 1 and 2 = Loop In/Move and Loop Out/Move decks 1 or 2
SYNC + Pads 3 and 4 = Autoloop 16 and Autoloop 32
SHIFT + Pads 1 and 2 = Loop In/Move and Loop Out/Move decks 3 or 4
Pads 5 to 7 = Neural Mix 3 channel decks 1 or 2
Pad 8 = Neural Mix Acapella + FX2 on decks 1 or 2
SHIFT + Pads 5-8 = Bounce Loop 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 beat on decks 1 or 2
BOUNCE LOOP
Pads 1-8 = Pitch Play
SHIFT + Pads 1-8 = Pitch Play Cue point
SYNC + Pads 4/8 = Pitch Play range up/down
TOUCH FX
Pads 1-3 = Enable FX1 to FX 3 on decks 1 or 2
Pads 5-7 = Enable FX1 to FX 3 on decks 3 or 4
Pads 4/8 = Select FX1 previous/next
SYNC + Pad 1 = FX1, 2 and 3 routing Acapella for deck 1 or 2
SYNC + Pad 2 = FX1, 2 and 3 routing Instrumental for deck 1 or 2
SHIFT + Pads 1-8 = Instant FX 1-8 on decks 1 or 2
JOG FX
Jogs = FX 1, 2 and 3 Wet / Dry (I already have a dedicated knob for parameter)
SHIFT + Jog = FX 1, 2 and 3 Parameter
SLICER
Instant FX 1-8 for decks 1 or 2
I put another possibility for them, because I don’t use Slicer and in another pad mode, I wouldn’t need to use the SHIFT button (as in Touch FX).
SLICER LOOP
SHIFT + Pads 4/8 = Increase / Decrease Slicer Repeat Interval for decks 1 or 2
One could use this as a Sampler Pad Mode too, it’s very easy to map this way.
Still have some room to implement more features, but I think for now it’s at least 95% done.
