NI Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 for Algoriddim djay Pro (Greilark 1.0)

Description and Instructions

Updated mappings for Traktor X1 MK2 with djay Pro

DJP-Traktor-X1-MK2-2Deck-Mapping-1.0
February 1, 2026

Based on James Gillies’ original mapping (thanks for the solid foundation), I’ve made several refinements to improve usability and bring the workflow closer to a Traktor-style X1 experience in djay Pro. Most functions now behave as intended on the X1 MK2; minor tweaks may still be needed.

The Touch Strip (WIP)

Djay Pro does not currently allow true CC splitting of the touch strip. Current implementation uses deck focus + Shift layers to control pitch bend/nudging:

  • Touch strip adjusts pitch bend for the focused deck

  • Shift modifies alternate pitch bend behavior
Usable for beat nudging, though not yet a 1:1 Traktor match.

Mapping Overview

Library & Loading

  • Browse: Center encoder turn

  • Enter panel: Encoder press

  • Back: Shift + encoder press

  • Expand/Collapse folders: Shift + scroll

  • Load: Left Arrow (Deck A) / Right Arrow (Deck B)

Performance

  • Neural Mix Vocal Filter: Top knobs (Deck A/B)

  • Flux / Slip: Works as expected; Sync and Flux remain lit while active

  • Cue Points: Buttons 1–4; Shift + Cue deletes/overwrites

Effects

  • FX knobs: Effect parameters

  • Shift + knob: Dry/Wet

  • Shift + FX1/FX2/FX3: Cycle through djay Pro effects

  • Effects differ slightly from the original config but are easily customized via djay’s MIDI editor

Censor / Backspin

  • Top FX Mode buttons: Censor (slip-style resume on release)

  • Shift + FX Mode: Backspin (intentionally under Shift to avoid accidental triggers)

Transport / Beatmatch

  • Deck Focus:

    • Shift + Left Arrow → Deck A

    • Shift + Right Arrow → Deck B

  • Tempo nudging via touch strip

  • Optional pitch bend via FX1/FX2 on each deck

Filter

  • Shift + Touch Strip: Filter selected deck

LED Changes

  • BPM-driven Play/Pause LEDs removed

  • Flux/Slip lighting is emphasized when Sync is engaged

Feedback welcome, especially around improving touch strip behavior or further aligning Slip/Flux logic with the original X1.

Developer Update After a longer test session tonight, I’m seeing a few areas where this mapping still needs refinement. With a Mixtour Pro II on the way, I may not be continuing active development on this version, but I wanted to share some observations for anyone experimenting with it. Key findings: Touch Strip: Pitch bend response isn’t quite dialed in. There’s too much “drag,” which makes it harder to land cleanly on-beat. Sensitivity likely needs further reduction or a different control approach altogether. Filter on Touch Strip: The filter mapped to the FX touch strip may need to be removed in a future iteration. I accidentally triggered it during a mix and didn’t immediately realize why the low end dropped out. Confirmed later in the DAW that the filter had been adjusted. Deck Focus / Shift Behavior: On one occasion, DJay Pro didn’t correctly register a deck focus change via the Shift-based deck selector. Could be edge-case behavior, but it’s worth noting. Possible next steps (if revisited): Change the touch strip behavior so it only engages while Shift is held Or remove pitch bend from the touch strip entirely and rely on FX buttons for nudging, which appears to align better with djay Pro’s intended workflow Repurpose the touch strip for a different function altogether If anyone in the community has insights into improving touch strip responsiveness or deck focus reliability in djay Pro, I’d love to hear what’s worked for you.
