MF3D DeckGratMotion (casey matricia edit) (casey matricia edit)

Description and Instructions

Note: If you have updated to the latest MF3D firmware (30 May 2013) you will need to load the Legacy->Standard firmware for this mapping to work as expected.
This can be found in the Tools->Alternate Firmware section of the MF Utility

I will update this mapping page with a visual layout and video soon. (edit: just made a quick one take video at home and have posted it above. i'd like to still do a better video in the future, but for now this should be good enough to explain the basic functionality)

For now, know that I started this mapping from my combination Deckalized+Instant Grat mapping (http://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/162) as a base to build from and then I started to strip out some functions while adding a lot of others in the form of motion functionality.

To properly use this mapping, your MF3D needs to be in "4 Banks Disabled Hold mode"

The top 4 mode buttons will select the Deck Focus. Make sure that Deck Focus is set to Software in the Global Settings of the Preferences so you can see/use the Deck Focus (the Deck letter highlighted yellow).

What was the Sample Slicer button is now a Reverb effect like in the Instant Gratification mapping. Shift+ this Reverb button will still activate Juggle mode though (LEDs will light up white to show this).

If you hold on any of the effect buttons and then move/tilt the controller in the back motion, it will relatively modulate the rate of the held effect.

Forward motion will add in a Reverb+Delay effect.

What used to be the Sync button (top row, 2nd from left) is now the Filter Motion On/Off button. When it is on, that LED will light up yellow/green and the Left and Right tilt axis' will control the Filter for the focused deck. The L/R motion Filter works even when L/R MotionFX are being used.

If you hold any of the Side Shift registers, each vertical half of the bottom three row of buttons will designate what Side MotionFX are selected (indicated by a flashing LED). While holding any of the Side Shift registers, you can press the buttons in the two left most columns to set the Left Motion Presets and/or press the buttons in the two right most columns to set the Right Motion Preset.

There are five different Motion Presets for each Side and and a Preset for no Motion FX on each side (this is designated by a pulsing Red LED on the bottom row column 2/3 buttons).

The Left Motion Preset FXs are more geared towards coloring effects while the Right Motion Preset FXs are a little more aggressive. Also note that none of the Left Motion Presets and Right Motion Presets are the same.
